In the News

Quite a few lambs are leaping about in our fields again, always a sure sign that the real spring is only just around the corner and with the warm sunshine today I could be tempted to believe it has already arrived. I could stand and watch the way the lambs are able to elevate with all four legs as one without any apparent effort, for ages, quite cute. Mark you our friends who own the Pub on the canal bridge, which overlooks our front field, are not happy to see them as they have to take lamb off their menu!

A number of things have changed since Christmas, heck, I can hardly believe it is almost three months ago already!

First change. We have opened a new bedroom on the ground floor; it’s the one we used before we completed our extension. It will be set as either a twin room, something we have missed and found many potential guests wanted or a super king as we have a special connecting set to convert the beds. The guests who have used it so far are impressed with the comfort. We will use it as an ‘option’ room rather than an additional one. It is being classed as a ‘Superior’ room as the room is larger than either the Garden or Aviation and the bathroom is large with both a bath and separate oversized shower, It is offered at £70.00 B&B for double occupancy, either as a twin or super king and £50 as a single B&B although we do not expect it will be used as a single very often. We are calling it ‘Cheshire’ because of the paintings of building in Nantwich on the walls. I will get a separate page into the web-site as soon as I can, updating this page I can manage, adding new ones need my web-masters help and he is rather busy at the moment.

Second change. There are a couple of changes to our catering which we believe will increase the service we offer guests. We have created three ‘Al La Carte’ menus. A Meat Eaters, a Vegetarian and a Vegan, actually there’s four as we also have one for those who are vegan and also have gluten and mushroom intolerance. These are quite extensive and will be set for at least six months. We will then add a daily ‘special’ at the set prices we have always offered. We have done this because a) I’m fed up with constantly re-doing menus because Isabel has decided to change one dish out of nine and b) because some guests want a single course rather than the two or three we have previously offered.

We have also added a ‘Lite-Bite’ menu which we offer at anytime during the day or evening. With the main menus we need to know what is wanted by 4pm but the ‘Lite-Bites’ can be ordered at any time without forward warning. We have introduced this menu because late arriving guests who are peckish but don’t want to go to bed stuffed to the gunnels now have a chance for a light snack and those who simply don’t want a full meal also have the opportunity to have something light to eat.

We do keep looking at ways we can improve the service we offer our guests and I know it is appreciated because guests tell us so.
