Oswestry – the town
Oswestry is thought to have been named after a tree! when part of the dismembered body of the Anglo Saxon King Oswald was deposited by an eagle, “Oswald’s Tree”. There are lots of old fashioned shops to explore as well as one or two of the larger “box stores” and supermarkets, To learn more about the town and its history use the link address below, fascinating stuff!
