Q:Are you open all year?
A:Yes, although availability is not guaranteed at any time
Q:Why “specialist” vegetarian?
A:We aim to give vegetarians and vegans the same level of selection as meat eaters and with our manufacturing background we ensure full product separation. There are very few true vegetarian B&B’s and although many B&B’s offer vegetarian options they are normally an afterthought and can be poor or cross contaminated. Don’t forget we also cater for those people with special dietary needs, provided we are advised at the time of booking.
Q:Can I bring my dog?
A:Sorry but we cannot accommodate pets in the house or running free outside due to the nature of the property and the wildlife in the grounds. However if your pet is happy to sleep in your car they are more than welcome.
Q:How many people can stay in the rooms?
A:Two, except in the Master Suite where it is up to four, two in the four poster bed and two on the sofa family room
Q:How late can I order dinner?
A:We prefer to know as far in advance as possible so when booking your accommodation is ideal, however up to 3pm on the day of arrival is OK, after that and food cannot be guaranteed though we will do our best to make sure you don’t go hungry.
Q:I want to “eat out” is that OK?
A:We would hope you would want to eat with us but understand if you want to eat out. We have provided a section in our in room informations books with some suggestions of local eateries and will happily arrange reservations for you and even organise a taxi if you want one.
Q:I want a meat based meal is that OK?
A:Yes, we have A La Carte menus for ALL styles, meat based, vegetarian, vegan and special diets.
Q:What’s in the area to see and do?
A:There’s plenty to see and do in the immediate and surrounding area. Just some of the attractions are listed on the “Local Places of Interest” page and we have plenty of information leaflets in the house.
Q:I’m canoeing can I keep it here?
A:Absolutely, we have storage for canoe’s, bicycles and even motorbikes, We have even vacated our garage to house a vintage car with little roof and no sides!
Q:What are the Gift Vouchers?
A:Quite simply a way of you giving friends or family a stay with us. You can pre pay for any of our rooms and even book dinner as well. Naturally the timing of the visit will be subject to availability at the time of booking but you can even pre-book this. Once purchased we will send the voucher and information on White House to you or direct to your recipient.
Q:Can I get afternoon tea?
A:Yes, we will give you afternoon tea with cake etc free on your day of arrival and you have tea and coffee making facilities in your room. You can also have tea or coffee after your meal or, at any other time during your stay, for a nominal cost of £1.50 per person for as much as you can drink.
Q:Can I buy alcohol from you?
A:No. We are not licensed and due to the current law, we can’t even GIVE you an alcoholic drink free, as we would like to; the law would considered it to be included as part of the B&B or dinner price!
Q:Can I bring my own alcohol?
A:Absolutely, we will provide glasses, ice, if wanted and will look after your wine for you, chilling or warming as required.
Q:Can I smoke at White House?
A:Only outside. In the courtyard we provide safe disposal of your used combustibles. Due to the inherent fire risk we ask that you take great care in other outside areas and there is NO smoking anywhere indoors – it’s the law.
